The HIH-4000 sensor utilizes a capacitive sensing element to measure the amount of moisture present in the air. The sensing element consists of a thin polymer film that absorbs or releases moisture depending on the ambient humidity. This moisture absorption or release affects the capacitance of the sensing element, which is then converted into an electrical signal proportional to the relative humidity. The HIH-4000 Humidity Sensor finds applications in a wide range of industries, including HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning), automotive, medical, environmental monitoring, and industrial process control.
